How shared moments become memories

Understand character memory, world memory and how earlier experiences can carry into later conversations.

A good continuation starts with something to continue. In CherryWorlds, memories connect a completed event or a developing relationship to the next conversation. They also give different people a shared sense of what has happened in their world.

SHARED MOMENT

By the sea, after sunset

You talked about the beach after the visitors leave, and made a plan to meet again.
THE NEXT CONVERSATION
Remember that quiet stretch of coast we talked about?
Of course. This time, coffee’s on me.
A shared moment finds its way into your next conversation.

Character memory: what happened between you

Character memory concerns your relationship with one person. It can include meaningful shared experiences, things they have learned about you and promises that matter to your interactions. It is more selective than keeping every message equally prominent.

For example, the beach conversation illustrated on this site leads to a plan to meet again. A later message can refer to that plan. The demonstration shows the idea of continuity; it is not a guarantee that a particular line or event will appear in every playthrough.

World memory: the history around you

World memory belongs to the setting as a whole. When an in-game day ends, a summary of relevant developments can carry forward into the next day. A public event or a change involving several characters can become part of that wider context.

This gives personal conversations a place in an ongoing story. One character may remember the moment you shared together, while several characters can draw on developments in the same town or campus. These are different kinds of continuity.

Time gives memories a next chapter

The world moves through its own time slots as important events are completed. Earlier experiences can then inform new character activities, encounters or conversations. Time is part of the game’s story progression, rather than a requirement to stay online all day.

A relationship can also develop through ordinary conversation without advancing the world clock. That leaves room for small exchanges between the bigger scenes: asking how someone feels, revisiting a joke, or bringing up a shared experience.

Continuity without promising perfect recall

AI-generated dialogue can still misunderstand or omit details. CherryWorlds does not promise permanent, flawless recall of every sentence. Memories are used to support a coherent ongoing relationship, not to turn fictional characters into reliable record-keeping tools.

The aim is to give you a shared past to build on, one experience at a time. Check the download page for platform availability and supported languages.
